CHARTER & CAPSTONE CAMPS

In-person adventure

The Charter and Capstone Camps are essential components of the Future Framers Gap Year program.

All enrolled participants attend both camps. These week-long, in-person intensives are opportunities to:

  • Travel to new places and have new experiences.
  • Develop friendships and meaningful connections with your cohort.
  • Meet program staff and team members.
  • Participate in program experiences that are memorable, inspiring, and fun.
  • Receive hands-on training and skills building.
  • Produce and share something you create, especially in the Capstone Camp.

Charter Camp

Charter Camp takes place near the start of the 9-month program. The focus is on goal setting and charting your course for the next several months. This will be an opportunity to build connections and community within your cohort, and to meet Future Framers team members. There will be training on digital production tools which will culminate in the completion and presentation of a group project at the end of the week.

Capstone Camp

Capstone Camp takes place near the end of the program and focuses on the completion and presentation of a Capstone Project. Your Capstone Project is something you’ve created and/or led that develops and demonstrates your skills in an area. The Future Framers team, your cohort, and your network outside of the program help you define and complete your project. This is a chance to build skills and is a great addition to your resume or portfolio.

Participants are encouraged to take advantage of the location and stay in the region additional days before or after the camp for personal travel. Participants are responsible for making these travel arrangements and for the additional expenses of the optional travel.

The Future Framers team will provide ideas for additional regional activities, especially low-cost options and those that give exposure to new cultures and environments, and provide personal or professional development. We will be happy to discuss options with participants individually.
