Meet your cohort and find inspiration in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia

We are excited to announce the location of the 2024-25 Future Framers Gap Year Charter Camp will be in the stunning natural beauty of the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, Canada. This fall adventure session will provide a week of activities to introduce the program and its participants, staff, and instructors. Workshops that help you determine where you are, where you want to go, and how you can get there, will be led by on-site trainers. We will also be spending time exploring the region, including natural environments which are threatened by human-caused environmental changes.

The Gulf Islands are the ancestral home of many indigenous nations collectively known as the Coast Salish. We will learn more about their history as well as the ongoing challenges of truth and reconciliation, and environmental justice. This location is the perfect place to experience first-hand the topics of climate change and society, as well as the revitalization that time in the natural world provides.

Participants are encouraged to extend their adventure the week after the structured activities. Future Framers staff will provide recommendations for additional travel, trainings or courses, work, and service experiences in the region.

A detailed itinerary will be provided to enrolled students.
