Julian is at the early stages of his professional career, driven by a passion for designing educational spaces that affirm and leverage the individual strengths of all learners. Coming from a low-income, first-generation, immigrant family, Julian's personal journey has illuminated to him the transformative power of education–both within and beyond the classroom–in positively impacting lives.
Julian has demonstrated experience in higher education, primary education, and the non-profit education sector. He currently plays a key role supporting faculty affairs initiatives at the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at the University of Washington. Prior to this, Julian served as an AmeriCorps Program Coordinator at Reading Partners, a K-5 literacy non-profit.
Julian earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from The University of California, Berkeley, complemented with a Minor in Education and Certificate in Design Innovation. During his undergrad years, he held a work-study position as the Graduate Admissions Assistant in the Energy and Resources Group, and simultaneously took on a role as a Sociology Undergraduate Peer Advisor.
